Oregon 20LPX PowerCutâ„¢ 18″ Saw Chain – .325″ x .050″ (74 DL)
The Oregon 20LPX074G PowerCutâ„¢ is a high-performance, full-chisel saw chain engineered for professional woodcutters and arborists. Designed for 18-inch guide bars, this chain features aggressive square-corner cutters that slice through timber with maximum speed and precision. It is the ideal choice for high-output mid-sized saws where cutting efficiency is the top priority.
Engineered for Performance
This chain utilizes Oregon’s LubriTecâ„¢ oiling system to ensure consistent lubrication to the rivets and drive links, significantly reducing friction and stretching. The Blued Cutters offer high-grade corrosion resistance, while the offset depth gauges provide a smoother cutting action on higher-RPM saws.

This chain is .325″ Pitch. It will NOT work with 3/8″ standard or 3/8″ Low Profile (Picco) sprockets or guide bars. Additionally, the 20LPX074G features a .050″ gauge. Many Stihl saws using a .325″ system are factory-equipped with a .063″ gauge bar; this chain will not fit if your bar is designed for .063″ (1.6mm) drive links. This is a “Yellow Label” professional chain and does not meet ANSI low-kickback requirements.
- Sharpening Files: Shop 3/16″ (4.8mm) Round Files
Because the 20LPX is a full-chisel chain, it is extremely fast but sensitive to dirt. For the best results on Stihl mid-range saws like the MS 261, ensure your rim sprocket is in good condition. A worn sprocket can cause the chain to “jump” or wear prematurely at the drive links. Always check your drive sprocket for wear grooves when installing a new loop.
